Alexandre Moreira da Silva

Alexandre Moreira is a Research Scientist at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. He leads the techinical development of R&D projects related to power systems operations, planning and economics. Alexandre is a Senior Member of the IEEE. He holds BSc degrees in Industrial Engineering and in Electrical Engineering as well as a MSc degree in Electrical Engineering from PUC-Rio, Brazil. In additon, holds a PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from the Imperial College London, UK. Alexandre has extensive research experience and background in formulating, developing, and implementing methodologies to address several problems related to power systems, considering transmission and distribution grids.
